Chelsea are looking to enhance their position in the global football market after launching their official website to be viewed by Chinese supporters.

It is hoped that the website will provide an online community for fans across the country, with the development being supported by a number of Chinese companies.

A five-year deal has been reached with Chinese football social networking site ikanqiu.com, while being promoted through portal website Soho.com.

Cas Knight, managing director of Chelsea Digital Media, said: "The website is the result of Chelsea's dedication to directly sharing the fun and excitement of football with our supporters in China.

"Fans will be able to follow in Mandarin the extensive content found on our English website."

All of Chelsea's fans in China would have been pleased to see Carlo Ancelotti's first major game in charge of the club end with victory in the FA Community Shield.

Chelsea beat Manchester United on penalties after the game had finished 2-2 after 90 minutes, with Salomon Kalou scoring the winning penalty.
