Change of training facilities for Blackpool

The long-term of success of Blackpool could be boosted by a move to new training facilities, it has been suggested.

Chairman at the Championship side Karl Oyston told BBC Radio Lancashire that manager Ian Holloway has stated that both he and the players are not fans of the current Squires Gate facilities.

Holloway has gone as far as to describe the location as a "horrible environment to work in" and that the players will not be returning.

Thus, Oyston has revealed that two new sites are being looked into, which would improve the standards of the team's training opportunities.

He told the radio station: "At the moment one of the limiting factors is having two pitches. We probably need four and an all-weather to even begin to do what we want, as well as developing the youth and be able to train in all conditions.

"We've got two sites which we will discuss with the planners and then will have to dispose of Squires Gate for alternative use."

Carbrini Sportwear currently has a football sponsorship deal with Blackpool, which means that its name will be across the front of the club's shirts in the coming season, while also being their kit supplier.
