There are contrasting opinions between Manchester United's players and supporters on the club's new home kit, it has emerged.
Wayne Rooney was given the duty of unveiling the new strip, with the shirt having a black v-shape around its neck in tribute to the shirt worn in 1909/10, when the club's Old Trafford ground opened.
However, one fan has revealed that he is not the shirt's biggest fan and labelled it as resembling the homeland of Manchester United's owners.
According to the Sun, supporter Nick Cooper said: "It looks more like a rugby league strip. It also looks a bit American. I've not been a fan of the United kits for years."
But player Ji-Sung Park argued: "I like to think of it as V for victory and hopefully we can win every game we play in the new kits."
Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand added that he believes that it is important to "maintain the traditions of the club".
Manchester United wore a special kit to mark the 50th anniversary of the Munich air disaster during their fixture with rivals Manchester City during the 2007/08 season.
Football sponsor AIG agreed not to have their names on the shirt for the game.
