Football Technology and Stadia
The animator behind the children's cartoon series SuperTed has been busy putting his creative skills to good use in the new stadium of Cardiff City.
Fan Mike Young has been busy drawing caricatures of players past and present including Robert Earnshaw and Joe Ledley at the family end of the Cardiff City Stadium.
Speaking to Wales Online, he answered reports from the past which suggested that he was to seal a football sponsorship deal with the club, which would have seen the new home called the SuperTed Stadium.
He said: "If I had the £8 million to sponsor this stadium I would never call it the SuperTed Stadium. I couldn't do that to the team or the club.
"It would have to be something like the current name, the Cardiff City Stadium. Basically we have come over to sponsor part of the family stand with caricatures of City players from the past."
He added that in the days before shirt sponsorship deals were agreed, Cardiff City once had SuperTed written across the front of their shirts.
Cardiff City are to begin playing their home games in the new stadium from next season having previously played at Ninian Park since 1928.
