A football sponsorship deal is to be made available through Wembley Stadium as the FA looks to boost its financial position, it has been revealed.
The Daily Mail reports that the FA is looking to bring in an extra £5 million a year and seems set to offer the national stadium up for advertising rights from 2010, during the next sponsorship programme.
However, as is the case with the FA Cup, it is highlighted that a different sort of sponsorship deal will be arranged.
Thus, the deal will be in the form of 'Wembley sponsored by ' or 'Wembley in association with ', according to the publication.
Furthermore, the FA is already on the lookout for companies to be the football sponsor of the upcoming Wembley Cup in August, a four-team event that features recent UEFA Champions League winners Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur.
Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola said of the opportunity: "The Wembley Cup is a fantastic opportunity for our fans in the UK to watch Barcelona play in the incredible surroundings of Wembley Stadium."
