Aldershot Town manager Gary Waddock is to have more money to spend on his squad next season thanks to donations from the club's fans.
With Waddock seeing his player budget slashed for the upcoming 2009/10 campaign, fans have clubbed together to raise money in a special fund that will be given solely to the manager rather than the club as a whole.
To date, just under £40,000 has been raised, with fund co-founder Nick Fryer stating that the money could be used in a number of ways.
He told BBC Surrey: "It could be a loan player, it could be towards a player's wages or it could be towards a transfer fee or it could be a combination of those three.
"Gary will come to the board firstly but if his budget is used or the club can't afford it his next course of action will be to come to the player share."
He added that the fund is something that has long been discussed by the manager and the board.
Aldershot Town will again be playing League Two football next season after finishing in 15th position in the table this season.
