Television broadcaster ITV has come up with a unique way of allowing fans to experience the FA Cup final on the internet.

ITV.com will feature 'Twitterfall' in its football section, allowing fans to see 'tweets' on the game between Everton and Chelsea as it plays out.

London based digital agency thruSITES is to build the application, after being used in the past by the broadcaster.

Another tool will allow users to view which players on show are creating the biggest buzz during certain sections of the game.

Dominic Cameron, managing director of ITV.com, said: "Our experiments with social media show that fans of our shows, especially the big live events, love to share their thoughts with others on the web in real time.

"This experiment is a great way of reflecting the buzz about the game on our site and if it's a success, will no doubt pave the way for more efforts to engage football fans in new and interesting ways."

The final is to take place on May 30th, with fans able to use the tools and chat on the official page from 13:30 BST on the day of the match.

Chelsea have previously won the FA Cup four times, the last of which occurred when they beat Manchester United in the final in 2007.
