Norwich City could find themselves over £2 million better off if supporters fail to claim season ticket rebates as a result of the club's relegation to League One, the Norwich Evening News 24 has revealed.

Some 18,000 fans bought their season tickets for the next campaign prior to the club being condemned to relegation and now they have the option of getting a ten to 20 per cent rebate on the price they paid.

However, club director Michael Foulger has revealed that he will personally match all the money that is unclaimed in the rebate kitty, which could hit him in the pocket for around £1 million.

According to the publication, Mr Foulger indicated in a letter to fans: "What I can assure you of is this … if you don't claim your rebate, every single penny not paid out to fans will be used for the playing squad.

"I would like to take this one step further. I personally will match pound for pound the final total not claimed, with all the money going directly into football."

Meanwhile, majority shareholder at Norwich City Delia Smith is close to signing a deal with the BBC that will see her celebrate her 40-year career in cookery by recreating her favourite recipes.
