A Cardiff City fan is to get the chance of a lifetime to play on the club's Ninian Park pitch, as his local team has made it through to the final of a cup competition, the BBC reports.

Goalkeeper Luke Pittard usually gets the chance to watch his cousin Joe Ledley at the famous ground, but the roles will be reversed for the United Churches League Cup final.

Mr Pittard will be playing for Glenwood Church, with many of his teammates also fans of the Championship club.

He told the BBC: "I have been a Bluebirds supporter for as long as I can remember so this will be an amazing game and it means more again knowing that it is among the last few games to be played at Ninian Park.

"All of our team are really big Cardiff City supporters so we're really looking forward to the game."

Cardiff City are set to move into their new home in July, called the Cardiff City Stadium, which they will share with the Cardiff Blues Rugby Union team.
