Millwall fans snap up 34,000 tickets for Wembley

Football Clubs News

Millwall have already sold 34,000 tickets ahead of their trip to Wembley to face Scunthorpe United in the League One Play-Off Final, it has been revealed.

Kenny Jackett's men made it into the final after beating Leeds United 2-1 on aggregate, with Djimi Abdou cancelling out Luciano Becchio's opener in a second leg that finished 1-1 at Elland Road.

Millwall suffered from ticket problems ahead of that game, as the 1,000 supporters who made the trip north had to stop at a service station on the M1 to trade in vouchers for the tickets.

Following the decision, Bob Asprey, chairman of the Millwall Supporters' Club, told the BBC: "We have been limited to 1,000 tickets and for a game of this magnitude it is a pretty poor show."

However, the club is suffering no such shortage for Wembley, as Millwall's official website has stated that 34,000 tickets have already been bought for Wembley and others are still up for sale.

Scunthorpe United sealed their trip to Wembley after beating MK Dons on penalties in the other play-off semi final, with Tore Andre Flo missing the deciding penalty when he hit the bar.
