The Archbishop of York called on fans to get behind York City in their FA Trophy final defeat against Stevenage Borough at Wembley over the weekend.
Prior to the final, Archbishop John Sentamu stated that fans should try and make the trip to London as it could be a day that lives long in the memory.
He said: "Saturday is a big day not only for the team but also for the city of York. I'm urging everyone in the city to get behind our team and cheer them on.
"I would urge anyone who can to get down to the game. It's going to be the kind of day families will tell each about for years to come."
Unfortunately for Archbishop Sentamu, who missed the game himself as he was in Toronto speaking at a conference, York City lost to Stevenage Borough 2-0 in the final.
Steve Morison opened the scoring in the second-half before Lee Boylan made the victory safe in stoppage-time from a Morison pass.
