Four clubs in the English Premier League are planning to launch three new kits for next season, it has been revealed by the Daily Mail.
Sportsmail has asked all 20 clubs in England's top flight how many new kits they were planning to unveil next summer, with West Bromwich Albion, Portsmouth, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur introducing new home, away and third kits.
Meanwhile, only 13 of the clubs answered the question in full, with the likes of Hull City, Middlesbrough, Stoke City and Sunderland stating they would be launching new home and away kits, while being unsure about their third kit.
Six clubs failed to provide the information either because they didn't want to reveal their plans or because representatives at the club were unavailable to offer comment.
The questions were asked following recent research by the Football Fans Census for Virgin Money, which found that one in four fans were planning to cut back on spending on their club's merchandise next season.
Malcolm Clarke, chairman of the Football Supporters Federation, said: "The bottom line for fans is that you need a ticket to get into the game but you don't need a replica shirt and when money's tight it's the non-essentials which will go.
"We must expect to see older shirts being kept in service for longer."
Manchester United seem set to win the Premier League this season, as they top the table by three points with three games remaining, while they also have a game in hand on nearest pursuers Liverpool.
