West Bromwich Albion chairman Jeremy Peace has applauded the club's fans after a number of season tickets for next season have already been bought, despite the club looking increasingly likely to suffer relegation.
Around 16,000 season tickets have already been sold for the start of the 2009/10 season, even though the club could be playing Championship football.
Tony Mowbray's side are six points away from English Premier League safety with only three matches remaining, one of which is at home to title-chasing Liverpool.
But Peace said: "Our supporters have once again been a great credit to the club and deserve all the plaudits they have received.
"The fact that we have already sold 16,000 season tickets for next season when our league fate has yet to be decided underlines just how loyal our supporters are."
He added that regardless of which division the club will be playing in next season, they will be "in good shape" financially.
Chris Brunt is West Bromwich Albion's top goalscorer this season with seven league strikes, one more than Roman Bednar.
