Scottish Football League (SFL) chiefs are in the process of arranging a meeting with Livingston chairman Angelo Massone to try and understand the evolving crisis at the club.
Manager of the first division side Paul Hegarty and his assistant Graeme Robertson both were banned from entering the club's Almondvale training facility yesterday, after being suspended from their duties on Saturday evening.
Massone is currently in Italy and has stated that the decision to ban the pair was a 'private matter' and for the remaining two games of the season has placed Davie Hay in temporary charge.
It has been reported that a second letter from players complaining about the late payment of wages may have been the trigger for Massone's decision.
The SFL's next committee meeting is due to take place on May 7th and Massone has been asked to attend to explain the club's current state of affairs.
It has also been suggested that Livingston are stuck in a financial crisis, with creditors taking their chase for the cash they are owed to the courts, with the club in a seven-figure debt.
Livingston have lost their last three games without managing to score a goal and their penultimate league fixture will see them travel to Ross County on Saturday.
