Former British Olympic Association chief executive Simon Clegg is to take over the same role at Ipswich Town, it has been reported.
Clegg was at the forefront of the British Olympic team that achieved a record-breaking number of medals in Beijing last summer and it is hoped he can bring similar success to the Championship club.
He will take over in the role from Derek Bowden, who will step down at the end of the season.
Clegg said: "I have joined Ipswich Town because I am absolutely convinced that working together with the fans, sponsors, community and staff we can once again put the club back in its rightful place in the Premiership."
He added that majority shareholder Marcus Evans invited him to take the position, who added that Clegg's experience and knowledge of both sport and business will be of huge benefit to the club.
Ipswich picked up a 3-2 win over local rivals Norwich City in the Championship on Saturday with goals from Alan Quinn, Giovani dos Santos and Jon Stead.
