Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed to become a global ambassador for motor oil company Castrol, it was revealed today (April 17th).
The Manchester United star, who is the current Fifa world player of the year, has reportedly agreed a deal with the lubricant firm which runs until 2011.
Under the terms of the deal, the Portuguese winger - who scored United's winner this week in their Champions League quarter-final second-leg clash with Porto - will front a number of new football-themed initiatives.
Furthermore, he will become the face of new advertising campaigns for two of the company's major brands, the Castrol Edge and Castrol Power 1.
The news is the latest signal that Castrol is looking to forge strong links with the football community, having been signed up as a sponsor for the European Championships last year and next year's World Cup.
Ronaldo scored 42 goals in all competitions last season as United lifted the Premier League and Champions League trophies.
