An unpaid rent bill could force Clyde to go out of business, it has been revealed.
According to the Daily Record, Clyde will be evicted from their Broadwood home unless they settle a £150,000 bill with ground owners Broadwood Stadium Company, which is a subsidiary of Lanarkshire Council.
However, Clyde director John Ruddy believes the club is being hampered in its efforts to settle the dispute by the council, which he claims has an ulterior motive.
This assertion has been denied by Broadwood Stadium Company chairman Jim Logue, who insists the public limited company is acting fairly and within the rules.
"There is no hidden agenda, such suggestions are mischievous and misleading," he commented.
"We want Clyde Football Club to continue as tenants but like every commercial operation they must be able to pay their dues."
Clyde's problems extend beyond the financial sphere, with the club rooted to the foot of Division One following a 0-1 home defeat at the hands on Livingstone on Saturday (April 4th).
