Uefa revealed on Friday (April 3rd) that it has signed an exclusive agreement with Telewizja Polska SA (TVP) for the broadcasting rights for the European Championships in 2012.
The agreement - which is the first since the launch of the tender process in February - will see the broadcaster show live coverage and highlights of all 31 matches on its free-to-air and pay-per-view stations.
Furthermore, TVP will have the opportunity to show footage on its website, while also publicising the tournament through a range of dedicated magazine-style television programmes.
Commenting on the news, Uefa general secretary David Taylor told uefa.com: "Uefa is delighted to welcome TVP as the first member of the exclusive group of Uefa Euro 2012 official broadcasters.
"To have a broadcast partner in place in one of the host countries at such an early stage will be highly beneficial for the promotion of the tournament."
Taylor added that the development will offer a "unique viewing experience for the Polish audience", while also noting the quality of the TVP bid.
Euro 2012 will be co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine.
