Celtic have confirmed today (March 12th) that they have extended their sponsorship deal with American sportswear giant Nike by an additional five years.
According to a spokesman for the Scottish Premier League leaders, the new deal will come into effect next summer and will be worth more than the current £25 million agreement.
Commenting on the news, Bhoys chief executive Peter Lawwell explained that he was "absolutely delighted" to prolong the club's partnership with the "world's leading sports brand".
He said: "It is a deal which extends our global profile and reach and one which will bring great benefit to the club.
"Clearly, it is most satisfying that the club is making such progress and striving forward in this manner."
Lawwell added that it is "pleasing" to see that Nike continues to recognise Celtic as "one of the leading names in world football".
Celtic announced last month that they managed to reduce their debt from £3.6 million to £0.97 million in the six months to December 31st 2008.
