Three Scottish First Division matches will be shown live on BBC Alba this season, BBC Sport confirmed today (February 3rd).

The broadcaster has revealed that it will offer coverage of the clashes between Airdrie United and Clyde, Partick Thistle and Dundee, and St Johnstone and Queen of the South.

The matches, which will all be on Sundays and have kick-off times of 15:15 GMT, are set to take place on February 22nd, March 22nd and April 19th respectively.

Commenting on the news, Scottish Football League (SFL) chief executive David Longmuir expressed his belief that the matches will be an excellent advertisement for the country's second tier.

He told the news provider: "I'm delighted that the channel recognises the excitement, passion and community values of the SFL.

"I look forward to developing this relationship in the months ahead."

At present, BBC Alba shows delayed coverage of the Scottish Premier League, while it also screened the ALBA Challenge Cup final between Airdrie and Ross County live in November.
