The takeover of troubled Scottish Third Division side Berwick Rangers has finally been completed, it was confirmed yesterday (January 27th).
A consortium led by the Berwick Rangers Supporters Trust agreed a deal for the club in November but there was a delay as the finer details continued to be ironed out.
But now trust chairman John Bell has confirmed that the situation has been resolved after a business transaction involving "several parties" was finally concluded.
He told the club's website: "I'm delighted to report that the transfer of shares was concluded. It means that the ownership has now changed hands and is irreversible.
"This was the major issue in the change of ownership and other matters can now be quickly addressed and new directors can be appointed."
The original announcement was punctuated by the departure of manager Allan McGonigal after just six months at the helm, who attributed his decision to the exit of certain board members.
Berwick currently sit in ninth place in the Scottish Third Division, on 21 points.
