Italian sportswear manufacturer Kappa will become the official kit sponsor of Borussia Dortmund from next season onwards, it has been confirmed today (January 27th).
The Bundesliga side, whose famous black and yellow strips are currently sponsored by Nike, will display the Kappa logo on all their kits, including those of the BVB amateur and youth teams.
Under the terms of the deal, which was negotiated by SPORTFIVE and will last for three years initially, Kappa will receive VIP ticket allocations, various B2B services and have the right to advertise in the Westfalenstadion.
Dortmund chairman Hans-Joachim Watzke said: "Kappa stands for modern design and a dynamic sport. These are values that we here at BVB also regard highly.
"Both sides will benefit from this cooperation, because both have high goals in the next years which only can be accomplished in a strong alliance."
Kappa already sponsors a host of top teams, such as Werder Bremen, Roma, Feyenoord, Betis, Sampdoria, Partizan Belgrade, Nantes and FC Kobenhavn.
Dortmund won the Champions League in 1997, defeating Juventus in the final.
