Football Conferences and Exhibitions
A host of top names will be in attendance to discuss the globalisation of football at the inaugural Soccerex Brasilia Forum in March, it has been confirmed today (January 21st).
Carlos Alberto, who scored the goal often referred to as the greatest of all time en route to winning the World Cup with Brazil in 1970, will discuss the increasingly globe-trotting nature of footballers' careers.
In addition, ex-Tottenham boss Ossie Ardiles - also a World Cup winner with Argentina in 1978 - will offer his thoughts on the growing trend of dual nationality and the watering down of eligibility for international teams.
Gerard Houiller, former manager of Liverpool, will speak about his time in charge of the famed French academy at Clairefontaine and [his] stint working for the country's Football Association.
He will also explore France's historic relationship with west Africa, which was celebrated so gloriously in 1998 when a Les Bleus team featuring African-born players such as Marcel Desailly, Lilian Thuram and Patrick Vieira won the World Cup on home soil.
The Soccerex Brasilia Forum will be held in Brazil's capital between March 17th and 18th.
