Forfar Athletic revealed yesterday (January 14th) that they are set for a £120,000 windfall from their Scottish Cup fifth-round clash with Rangers at Station Park, the BBC reports.
The Scottish Third Division side will take on the Glasgow giants on February 8th after seeing off Forres Mechanics 6-1 in the previous round, with the match due to be televised.
Secretary David McGregor, who has been with the club for 35 years, explained that the six-figure sum would help the Sky Blues clear their debts and invest in the playing squad.
He told BBC Scotland: "It more than writes off our overdraft. Our overdraft is sitting at the moment around the £70,000-£80,000 mark, so we will certainly write that off.
"I'm sure some of the windfall that we are going to get will be put to improving matters even further on the park."
McGregor added that he was looking forward to welcoming Walter Smith's men and that the fixture is giving "everybody in the town a buzz".
Forfar Athletic were formed in 1885 and Station Park currently has a capacity of 5,177.
