A prominent Derby County supporter has today (January 12th) expressed her frustration at the late postponement of the Rams' clash with Cardiff City on Saturday, the Sun reports.
New manager Nigel Clough was set to make his bow at Ninian Park against the Bluebirds, but the match was called off at 13:30 GMT due to the frozen playing surface.
Now Diane Timmins, secretary of the south Derbyshire branch of the Derby County Supporters Club, has spoken of her disgust at the decision, which left hundreds of fans who had made the 150-mile trip frustrated.
She told the newspaper: "I'm annoyed. It shouldn't happen in this day and age. It's not good enough. We paid good money to travel all that way for nothing.
"When the weather's bad, referees and the football authorities should stick their necks out and make a decision earlier."
Ms Timmins also confirmed that her branch had spent over £500 on a coach booking which took 30 fans down to Wales for the fixture.
Two Premier League games - the clashes between Fulham and Blackburn at Craven Cottage and Portsmouth and Manchester City at Fratton Park - were also cancelled on Saturday.
