Kettering offer Fulham clash for free to broadcasters

Football Clubs News

Kettering Town have confirmed today (January 7th) that they would be prepared to allow television cameras to broadcast their FA Cup fourth-round clash with Fulham for free.

The Blue Square Premier side are set to welcome the Cottagers to Rockingham Road for the fixture - which is scheduled for January 24th - but ITV and Setanta have decided against televising it.

However, the Poppies have announced that they are willing to forego a £160,000 fee to get the match broadcasted, while they also feel it would be beneficial to showcase their shirt sponsor, Palestine Aid, in light of the Gaza crisis.

Chairman Imraan Ladak said: "We were all very disappointed when the news was announced, but we hope our offer will allow ITV or Setanta to help increase awareness of the humanitarian crisis, whilst giving Kettering, Fulham and the neutral supporter the chance to watch one of the ties of the round."

Kettering reached the fourth round after defeating fellow non-league outfit Eastwood Town 2-1 last weekend.
