Hamburger SV confirmed yesterday (January 4th) that it has renewed its existing sponsorship package with Dubai-based airline company Emirates.

The Bundesliga side have extended the deal for an extra three years in a move which will also see Emirates become a partner in the 'Hamburger Weg' sponsorship initiative.

In addition, the company's logo will be displayed on the electronic rotating hoardings, in the players' tunnel and in an exclusive hospitality allotment at the HSV Nordbank Arena.

HSV chairman Bernd Hoffmann said: "We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with Emirates Airline taking us right through to 2012 and beyond.

"By expanding its sponsorship to include partnership in the 'Hamburger Weg' initiative, Emirates has made a clear commitment to the city of Hamburg and to this special concept."

Emirates chairman and chief executive Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum added that he was "very pleased" to be able to announce the deal.

HSV are currently managed by Dutchman Martin Jol, who left Tottenham under acrimonious circumstances last season.
