It has been reported that the Scottish FA will be airing its worries about the Scottish Premier League's plans to start the 2008/2009 season on August 8th when a fixtures co-ordination meeting takes place next month.
International manager George Burley had originally lobbied for an August 1st start date so his players could have a domestic game under their belts before taking on Norway on August 12th.
Now this idea has been rejected, it is thought that he is in favour of clubs with Scotland squad members on their books delaying the start of their seasons until the Oslo fixture has taken place.
According to the Herald, Burley now believes that it is better that his players take on the Norwegians 'cold' rather than risk picking up injuries so close to the match.
It is understood that the former Southampton boss wants his squad to assemble on August 6th to start preparations for the Norway clash.
