Derby County confirmed yesterday (December 1st) that they will be cutting ticket and merchandising prices at Pride Park in line with the government's recent reduction in VAT.
The Championship side will be passing on the 2.5 per cent decrease to their fans by lowering prices for home fixtures and at their shopDCFC and city-centre outlet in the Westfield Lab Sport store.
Commenting on the news, Rams' president and chief executive Tom Glick explained that the decision to cut adult ticket prices by 50p and concessions by 25p was a straightforward one.
"It was a simple decision to make. The government have made the decision and we are aligning with that - something we are more than happy to do for our supporters.
"The fact that we are top of the attendance league in the Championship by some distance and 12th in English football altogether, including the Premier League, shows that we have got our pricing policy right."
Derby County were founded in 1884 and were also one of the 12 founder members of the Football League in 1888.
