Football Conferences and Exhibitions
One of the most influential figures in South African football will be welcoming delegates at a major upcoming conference in the country, reports have confirmed today (November 20th).
Dr Irvin Khoza currently holds a number of pivotal positions, such as the chairman of the South Africa 2010 World Cup Local Organising Committee and the chairman of the South African Premier Soccer League.
Now it has been announced that he will be greeting dignitaries from around the globe at the opening ceremony of Soccerex 2008 - the business conference for world football - in Gauteng on Sunday.
Dr Khoza, who is also the vice-president of the South African FA and owner of major club side Orlando Pirates, will be joined by Gauteng premier Paul Mashatile and Soccerex chairman Tony Martin.
His address will come after an update on the 2010 World Cup by project CEO Danny Jordaan and Fifa general secretary Jerome Valcke, the most senior representative attending from world football's governing body.
Dr Khoza is commonly referred to by his nickname of 'Iron Duke' in his homeland.
