The latest Fifa world rankings have been released today (November 12th) and show that England have jumped back into the top ten.
The list reveals Fabio Capello's men in joint tenth alongside Portugal, a jump of four places after the impressive start to their World Cup qualifying campaign.
However, it was not such good news for the other home nations, all of whom dropped in the rankings after their performances during October.
While England were securing wins against Kazakhstan and Belarus, Scotland could only manage a 0-0 draw against Norway and have dropped seven places to 33rd in the list.
In addition, Northern Ireland and Wales - who both picked up a win and a defeat during the month - have slipped to 42nd and 62nd respectively.
Spain still sit proudly atop the rankings after their memorable victory at Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland, while the top five is completed by Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Brazil.
The rankings system was revamped following the 2006 World Cup and now takes results into account from the previous four years, rather than the previous eight years.
