Reading assistant manager Kevin Dillon has hit out at fixture congestion in the Championship, describing his side's schedule as "absolutely ridiculous".
The Royals players certainly did not seem to display any signs of tiredness as they romped to a 4-1 win over Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday (November 1st).
However, that win was their fifth match in 14 days and Dillon has explained that the physical and mental demands on teams in the division are excessive.
He said: "At least we don't have a game until next Saturday - that's normal in any other country in the world, apart from England.
"We weren't home till 03:30 BST after the Burnley game [last Tuesday]."
Dillon added that even Saturday's trip down the M4 to Bristol proved problematic, with former City full-back Liam Rosenior getting the team bus lost after giving incorrect directions.
Reading currently sit third in the Championship on 27 points and have smashed an impressive 21 goals in just seven home games so far this term.
