Swiss watchmaker signs deal with United

Football Sponsors/ Sponsorship and Media

Manchester United have confirmed today (October 30th) that they have signed a new sponsorship deal with Swiss watch manufacturer Hublot.

The firm has reportedly agreed a deal with the Red Devils which will see them net around £4 million over the course of the next three years.

Under the terms of the deal, Hublot - which was responsible for timing during the Euro 2008 tournament in Austria and Switzerland - will have its name on show at Old Trafford.

United chief executive David Gill said: "We are delighted to welcome such a prestigious partner as Hublot to the Manchester United family."

The link-up will also see Hublot produce a new 'Red Devil' timepiece, which is set to feature a 45-minute counter to represent a half of football.

The Swiss company becomes the fourth sponsor to join forces with United, following Saudi Telecom, Budweiser and Seoul Metropolitan Government.

United's shirt sponsor AIG was recently bailed out by the US government, which issued a £52 billion loan to prevent the company from collapsing.
