Soccerex has announced that it will be holding a special tender workshop in order to gauge interest from cities wishing to host any of its events in the future.
A senior delegation will be on hand at the Soccerex Convention 2008 for an initial meeting to outline the demands that would be imposed on cities and what they can expect in return.
The workshop session, which will take place on November 26th, is designed primarily to explore the possibilities for hosting the Soccerex Convention event between 2010 and 2014.
Those in attendance will get a first-hand account of how the event is run and what it entails by recent hosts from Dubai and Gauteng, while the Soccerex Forum will also be covered.
Barbara Creecy, the MEC for Sport, Art, Culture and Recreation for the Gauteng provincial government, has explained that hosting the convention provided a major boost to their local economy.
She said: "While the economic impact assessment to quantify the return on investment for the province from Soccerex 2007 is still in progress, we can report that Soccerex 2007 exceeded our expectations with increased direct spending by visitors estimated to have boosted the provincial economy by at least R150 million."
Anyone interested in attending should contact Soccerex as the session is invitation only.
