Football Sponsors/ Sponsorship and Media
Liverpool have agreed a number of new sponsorship arrangements to the tune of £10 million, it was confirmed yesterday (October 21st).
The deal which will be of most interest to the club's fans will be the link-up with Thomas Cook, who will provide travel packages for all of the Reds' away matches in the Champions League, FA Cup and Carling Cup.
This comes after a similar arrangement last season saw the travel company ferry thousands of Liverpool fans across the continent for key European fixtures.
In addition, Liverpool have also become the latest club to join the Superleague Formula motor racing championship, meaning a car bearing their famous crest will be competing in the six-race season.
Computer games giant Konami have also been taken on board, meaning Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 and all future titles will be declared as the 'Official Football Video Game of Liverpool FC'.
Last but not least, the Anfield side have also confirmed a link-up with top Irish bookmaker Paddy Power, which will now be the club's official online betting partner.
Responding to the news, Ian Ayre, Liverpool's commercial director, said: "We are very pleased with these exciting new partnerships.
"Combined with our already existing world-class portfolio of sponsors we all have a commitment to excellence in our respective fields and we look forward to building on these relationships as we move forward both on and off the pitch."
