Football Sponsors/ Sponsorship and Media
The Bundesliga has announced a massive multi-media deal that will see matches broadcast not only on TV, but online.
Football fans around Europe will be able to watch German top-flight football on TV or over the internet between 2009 and 2012 after sports broadcaster Eurosport announced it will show live Bundesliga games in 22 countries across the continent.
The agreement covers the top two tiers of the German league and includes up to four live games every week, as well as a weekly preview highlights programme.
Eurosport one will host the one-hour preview programme and up to ten games per season, while Eurosport 2 will show games on a weekly basis.
The deal covers much of Northern and Eastern Europe, including Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Scandinavia and Bulgaria.
The financial details have yet to be released and, ironically, matches will not be shown on German Eurosport as the German rights have not yet been allocated.
