Ebbsfleet United boss Liam Daish has explained today (September 30th) that the fans' takeover of the Blue Square Premier club has been a huge success.
The club formerly known as Gravesend and Northfleet was taken over by fans' website MyFootballClub back in February, much to the concern of some long-term supporters.
However, the move - which sees the club owned by 28,000 members across 80 countries - has been hailed by former Coventry and Republic of Ireland defender Daish.
He said: "In hindsight I expected a few more problems but it's run smoothly. You've got to give credit to the people involved and the members who have appreciated what we try to do.
"I think MyFootballClub members and fans alike are getting a real insight into what the club's about because it's a little bit more open now. We're more of an open book and I think that can help."
Fans can now have their say on team selection and player transfers and a number of other decisions relating to the running of the club.
One such example is the signing of striker Michael Gash for £20,000, a deal which was assisted by an initiative from the website.
