A "technical hitch" has been resolved by Hearts which means their players and staff can be paid on Friday, it has been revealed.
The wages should have gone through last Friday (September 20th), prompting talk of cash-flow problems at Tynecastle.
However, the club has moved to reassure supporters that the problem has been sorted and that it is unlikely to reoccur in the future.
"Payment has now been processed as planned and a similar situation is highly unlikely to arise again," a statement said on the club website.
"The minor error that occurred has not affected the running of the club in any way, all staff are working as normal."
Meanwhile, club captain Christophe Berra has dismissed claims that players are preparing to go on strike over the issue.
Speaking to the club website, he reassured supporters that the players remained totally committed to Hearts and winning the next match - an away game on Saturday against Dundee United.
