Derby County have expressed their satisfaction after learning today (September 23rd) that the Football League will prevent ticket prices for this weekend's clash with QPR being increased.
The Rams were furious after QPR offered them tickets priced at £40 for adults and £30 for concessions for Saturday's match at Loftus Road, despite having agreed rates of £10 lower in pre-season.
They rejected the offer and lodged a complaint with the Football League, which has been upheld, much to the delight of vice-president of operations John Vicars.
He said: "We will now be working closely with QPR to sort out the swift distribution of tickets to our supporters."
Rangers have also been on the end of criticism from their own fans after it emerged that similar price hikes also apply to them.
The club's supporters trust, QPR 1st, explained that the tactic is "unjustified and will have a serious effect on the relationship between the club and its supporters".
QPR have attempted to justify the move by stating that they needed to meet previously-established budgets in order to provide better entertainment to both sets of fans at Loftus Road.
