Football Sponsors/ Sponsorship and Media
The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has announced that it has extended its sponsorship deal with Eircom for an additional two years.
The agreement will see the Irish telecommunications provider remain the principal sponsor of the FAI and all Republic of Ireland international teams until 2010.
Commenting on the news, FAI chief executive John Delaney expressed his satisfaction at the continuation of the relationship.
He said: "Eircom has been an excellent partner for the FAI to develop and grow the game in all areas.
"I am delighted that they have decided to further enhance that special relationship with fans, players and all involved in the game through today's important announcement."
The signing of the deal also means that Eircom will become the official communications partner of the League of Ireland, thus extending its ongoing connection with the league.
The agreement - which is worth around 200,000 - is a consequence of the recent restructuring of the league's commercial partnership agreements.
