Football fans who own Ebbsfleet United will have to decide whether to accept a bid for striker John Akinde.

Fans bought the club and subsequently have to decide on club affairs such as transfers.

A total of 30,000 fans will have 48 hours to decide whether they should sell the 19-year-old centre forward for £140,000 from an unnamed club.

Liam Danish, the club's manager, has recommended that the player should be sold in order to allow him to play at a higher level.

Chelsea have reportedly sent scouts to watch the youngster and a bid from Peterborough was already rejected.

Speaking to the BBC, Will Brooks, the founder of myfootballclub.co.uk (MFC), said that it was a historic moment.

"The summer has been full of talk about Gareth Barry and Cristiano Ronaldo, but this transfer allows fans to have a say in whether it is right for the club," he said.

The website agreed the deal to takeover Ebbsfleet in November last year with members of the site paying money for shares in the club.
