Norwich fans to contribute to transfer fund

Norwich City fans will be able to contribute their own money to the club's transfer kitty after a new scheme was launched.

The fund, which will be run independently from the club, will allow fans to put money into the club's transfer allowances.

Iain Walpole believes that 25 per cent of the average home crowd would contribute £5 a month to the transfer fund.

This could leave a six-figure sum in the account of the Norwich City Kitty with fans already contributing in a bid to reinforce the squad during the January transfer window.

According to reports from the Eastern Daily Press, the club have not officially backed the plans.

The club's board would have the final say on where the money was spent although the kitty could stipulate an area where it should go.

Speaking to the EDP, Joe Ferrari, a spokesman for Norwich City, said: "Anything supporters want to do to raise money for the club is welcome and we wish them all the best with the initiative."
