A new football exhibition in Sunderland is showing why the sport is important to the north-east city.
Football, so what? is an exhibition that has been launched by youngsters from Sunderland hoping to showcase the city's football tradition.
Interviews with members of the public, former Sunderland players and big figures in English football have been used by the youngsters.
Niall Quinn, chairman of Sunderland, and trustee of the SAFC Foundation, said it was pleasing to see "such a fantastic project".
"Whether you're a football fan or not it's a great showcase of everything that's great about the city," he told the Sunderland Echo.
"The group have pulled together to create something great, and they can see the rewards and share them with everyone."
The young people have worked with the SAFC Foundation, Tyne and Wear Museums and Sunderland City Council to stage the football exhibition.
