Tranmere Rovers have become the latest Football League team to sign up to the 'Enjoy The Match' scheme.

The scheme urges clubs to encourage more families to attend matches in a friendly environment to ensure children and parents can enjoy the sport without abusive language and aggressive behaviour.

Stewards at Tranmere will now actively operate in the family areas and signs will ask fans to discourage anti-social behaviour.

Ronnie Moore, manager of the club, told the official website that it was a great initiative for fans.

"It will encourage a good family atmosphere at football grounds and should keep younger fans coming to games," he explained.

Fans are being encouraged to support the campaign by signing up to the Enjoy The Match pledge with all 24 clubs in the Championship offering their support.

So far, 22 clubs from League One have signed up to the scheme and a further 18 from League Two.
