Football fans are facing a high price as the football season brings a new wave of replica kits into shops.

Teams usually change their strip every two years, but only Manchester United and Newcastle United have decided to keep their home shirts.

Every side in the Premier League has changed their away strip and the Daily Telegraph claims that Everton fans some of the worst hit.

Everton supporters face £44.99 price tags on their adult shirts for next season - a £5 rise on last season's price.

But Aston Villa fans are being charged the most after they will pay £45 for the privilege of wearing the club colours.

Middlesbrough said football research among its fans revealed that they wanted a new strip every season, a view not shared by every set of supporters.

Iain Green of the Everton Supporters Association in Northampton, told the newspaper that the introduction of new kits puts pressure on families to buy the latest shirt.
