Rangers has apologised to fans after a shambles in the box office prevented thousands from supporting their team before the Champions League qualifying game at Ibrox against FBK Kaunas.
Fans were still waiting to reach their seats over one hour into the game, according to the Glasgow Daily Record.
A statement on the club website revealed that a "tremendous surge of interest" for the game at late notice had caused delays.
Rangers said that over 5,000 tickets were sold in a "matter of hours" and have apologised to supporters who could not see the game.
Kenny Scott, head of safety and operations, said: "We have fully refunded supporters who were most acutely affected by the delays on Wednesday.
"We are extremely grateful for the tremendous interest shown by supporters at the start of the new season which has resulted in our highest ever season ticket sales."
Rangers, who are playing Liverpool tomorrow (Saturday), urged supporters picking up tickets from the box office to get there early.
