Cardiff City have welcomed Keith Harris onto their board as a director.

The Bluebirds new recruit has performed as a former financial advisor to Manchester United and has been involved in numerous deals in the football world.

He was a key part of takeovers at Chelsea and Aston Villa that have seen Roman Abramovich and Randy Lerner take the helm.

Peter Risdale, chairman of the club, said he was delighted that Mr Harris had decided to join the club.

He said it was a sign that the club was moving into an era of restructuring and claimed it would boost their plans to become part of the Premier League.

Mr Harris has already been involved with the club after helping to secure the £28 million takeover which saw Sam Hammam leave the club.

Since then, the club have been able to move ahead with plans for a new stadium, according to reports from Wales Online.
