Netflights.com has been announced as the new sponsor of Leeds United after a deal with a proposed shirt sponsor had broken down.

The three-year commercial agreement will see Netflights.com become the official shirt sponsor of the club.

The brand will also appear across the Elland Road Stadium and on advertising boards in the backdrop of interviews.

According to a statement on the club's website, Netflights.com will communicate with fans so they can enjoy some of the benefits of the partnership.

Ken Bates, chairman of the club, said he was delighted to have signed a deal with Netflights.com and hoped it would be the start of a "mutually beneficial" partnership.

Steve Lewis, head of commercial operations at the club, revealed that they were close to starting the season without a sponsor.

"We had signed a deal earlier in the year but contractual difficulties left us without a sponsor just weeks before the season starts."
