Watford fans have a new way of supporting their club that could reduce the financial burden felt by fans.

A new loyalty scheme will allow fans to earn points when they shop at high street stores and these points can then be redeemed against purchases made at the club.

Stores taking part in the scheme include JJB Sports, Halfords and Superdrug and points can also be earnt at online stores of HMV, John Lewis and Marks & Spencer.

To claim cashback, members can scan their season tickets or fan cards at the point of sale at Vicarage Road.

Michael Jones, head of venue and customer experience at the club, said it was a way of giving something back to the club's supporters.

He said that normal lifestyle spending would contribute towards the cost of supporting Watford.

The scheme has been created in partnership with Reward and Gavin Dein, co-founder of the firm, said it was a great way to give something back to fans, mad.co.uk reports.

Meanwhile, Watford has launched a special corporate package to mark the beginning of the new season that will see fans benefit from reduced hospitality prices at the club's match against Bristol Rovers on August 12th.
