Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan claims he will quit the club in reaction to John Bostock's transfer to Tottenham.
Jordan claims he is disillusioned with football after being forced to sell the 16-year-old player to Spurs for only £700,000.
The fee was awarded by a Football League transfer tribunal but Jordan claimed the player was worth a sum of about £5 million.
Jordan said he was not quitting because he had lost interest in the club's fans, the team or the manager.
"I will do nothing to affect manager Neil Warnock and I will be absolutely committed to the club and I will find a responsible buyer," he explained.
He said he kept sane "by pumping millions of pounds" into Palace's academy.
He wanted his young players to be honoured at playing in the first team and thought that developing a good youth system was the way forward.
"Bostock was one of the best players my academy has produced in the last ten years - and he has been sold for a packet of crisps," he said.
